Senior Superlatives & Outstanding Senior Information
Information about the 2023 senior superlative voting and outstanding senior voting procedures:
Some may wonder how the students in these two categories are selected. Here is a brief overview of both procedures.
Superlatives: seniors are given nomination ballots in first-period classes in late October. Students are asked to nominate seniors for each category. Ballots are tallied by the adviser; seniors receiving the highest number of multiple votes are placed on the final ballot. Voting opens in late November and remains open until 5:00 PM December 7. The winner of each category is notified prior to taking the superlative photos.
Outstanding seniors: Faculty members are provided with a list of all seniors and asked to nominate 25 students who seem to best represent an outstanding senior. Teachers are encouraged to consider Wake County character traits as part of the process. From this list of nominees, students with multiple votes are placed on a final ballot and teachers are asked to vote again for 25 outstanding seniors. From this final round of voting, the top 25 students are identified.
